The pros set you master something after 10,000 hours of practice. Mindset mastery takes deliberate practice over time.
A less sexy title is probably more like “5 Ways to Work over the Long-Haul”. Less sexy. More accurate.
These 5 mindsets are work I’ve had to do in my life and leadership. In the last decade or so I have navigated becoming a parent to our three kids and changing vocational pathways to transitioning from being an executive to a contractor to an entrepreneur building two companies. Transforming my mindset (and nurturing my heart) has been some of the most important work I’ve done to becoming who I am created to be and doing my best work in the world.
A quick warning: information does NOT equal transformation. Simply reading these mindset shifts that have been essential for me—and the women we coach but knowing them doesn’t mean anything has changed in your mindset. This article isn’t intended to impress you with new information or even inspire you. Instead, my purpose is to move you toward activation.
New mindset equals new results. If you want different results in your life or leadership, you must do something different. To get what you’ve never had, you have to do what you’ve never done.
1. Read the Season.
There are 4 seasons in nature for a reason. Each season has different

Summer: nurturing what’s been planted, recovery, play, connection
Fall: harvest, pay day
Instant success isn’t instant (EX: microwave dinner)
Consistency is Key – Social Posting, Rest, Zero inbox, 24 hour follow-up calls

o My own investment in myself since the pandemic began – therapy, biz coach, marketing mentor, apps, solitude days at the beach, books
o Leaders must be the most self-aware people in the room
o Transformation begins with self-awareness.
o Who you are when no one’s looking matters!
o QUESTION: What are you pretending not to know? What’s the lie you’re telling yourself?

Mental
o QUESTION: What’s an energy expander you need to incorporate into your DAILY life?
When you shift your mindset, you shift results. New mindsets produce new results.
What mindset struck you the most? Which question is calling to you to take action:
