Were you taught that leadership is lonely? I was. And it’s one of the great lies of modern leadership. 😤
It’s not.
Leadership is influence. Leadership is taking people to new places. Leadership is making an impact. Leadership is a responsibility.
…and so much more, but leadership most definitely does NOT need to be lonely.
In my opinion, many of the leadership fallouts we witness are directly correlated to leaders who are not deeply connected to others.
The research supports this: 50% of CEOs report feeling lonely in their role, and 61% say it negatively impacts their performance. (Harvard Business Review / CEO Snapshot Survey)
The isolation that so many high-capacity leaders feel isn’t a feature of the job. It’s a symptom of the wrong environment. And it’s one of the most expensive costs of leading in a vacuum.
When you don’t have other leaders around you who GET it, you make decisions without sounding boards. You carry weight that’s too heavy for one person. You start to shrink your vision because no one around you is dreaming at the same level.
Getting yourself in the room with other like-minded leaders changes everything. Not because they do the same work as you. Because they CARE about the same things.
That’s one of the most brilliant benefits of the Awareness to Action Retreat. The connections you make there are deep, authentic, and real. Leaders from different fields supporting each other in the middle of their beautiful, meaningful work.
Don’t you dare lead alone.
