What’s holding you back?

If you’re anything like me, Monday felt like being shot out of a cannon. Ready or not, 2025 is here. I want this year to be different, filled with holistic, centered success. You’re here because you want that, too.

When it comes to your goals and/or word of the year, there are 4 common mistakes why leaders don’t get the results they want. This month I’m sharing what they are and one easy, actionable step you can take so you can make it past National Quitters Day today (aka the day each year when most people quit their resolutions!!).

Holistic success begins with one essential practice: reflection. Without it, it’s like opening your GPS without a destination.

Neuroscience shows that self-reflection activates your brain’s default mode network (DMN), enhancing problem-solving and creativity. When you reflect on the past and present, your brain’s  neural pathways are strengthened, improving both self-awareness and decision-making.

And yet, too many leaders skip this crucial step, running to the next deadline and demand.

Reflection isn’t a luxury—it’s strategic. It’s the pathway to understanding your strengths, identifying patterns, and ongoing growth. And when you invest time in it, your leadership flourishes, and your impact expands.

If you’ve not yet done a Year-In-Review, schedule one uninterrupted hour within the next week to reflect on last year, recalibrate where you’re at right now, so you can rise to your goals this year.

Invitation accepted? I’d love to hear! Trust me—your future self will thank you.
