Not because they’re not paying attention.
Because no one has ever asked them the right questions.
I’ve had hundreds of high-capacity leaders take our proprietary 120-question Wholeness Assessment over the last six years.
What surprises them most isn’t their lowest score.
It’s that they’ve never been asked to look at all six dimensions of their leadership at once — Physical, Emotional, Mental, Relational, Spiritual, Renewal.
They’ve been optimizing one or two areas while the others quietly erode.
And they had no idea.
Here’s what I’ve come to believe: You can’t lead what you haven’t assessed.
Self-awareness isn’t a personality trait. It’s a practice. And most high-capacity leaders are flying blind in at least two or three dimensions of their own wholeness — not because they don’t care, but because the demands of leading others leave very little room to lead themselves.
The calendar fills up. The body sends signals that get ignored. The relationships closest to you get the leftover version of you. The inner life goes numb.
Yet from the outside, everything looks fine.
That’s the part that gets me up in the morning.
Not the leaders who are struggling. They know something needs to change.
The leaders I’m most concerned about are the ones who are too busy to notice.
