Hey,
Your body is the basis for your whole life—and your leadership. This isn’t just theory for me anymore.
These last 2+ years have been the most difficult of my life because of my physical challenges. I went from the best shape of my life at 43 years old to barely being able to walk a few blocks overnight. My body shut down, and I developed a list of symptoms that baffled doctors. 😩
My body’s breakdown taught me what I now share with every leader I work with: ignore your body and you’ll get a leadership liability.
I shared more of my story and how it’s profoundly impacted my leadership on this episode. 👇🏾
If you feel like your body isn’t what it could be, it’s time to pay closer attention to the four fundamental parts of physical wholeness:
- Breath: The beginning of life and a regulated nervous system
- Sleep: The support system that rebuilds your capacity
- Food: The fuel that powers your performance
- Movement: The activation that maximizes your energy
Notice the order—it’s intentional and often the opposite of where leaders focus.
When I prioritize breath work and sleep quality over intense exercise, my decision-making improves dramatically and those closest to me notice the difference. (When I don’t? They also notice! 🫣)
Wholeness begins in your body. Everything flows from the body you live in and you get to care for it.
